RIP Mary Tamm [Romana I]

    Sadly, another Doctor Who alumni has lost the battle to cancer. Mary Tamm, who played the first incarnation, has died (aged 62). :(URL="http://www.bbc.co.uk/blogs/doctorwho/articles/Doctor-Who-Legend-Mary-Tamm-Passes-Away"]article[/URL.

    It's terribly close to Caroline John. Both of them played strong female roles - equals to the Doctor's intellect. Romana's role helped expand the world of the Doctor, bringing in his fellow members of Gallifrey and having someone now capable of reigning in his ego (as much as anyone could with Tom Baker!).

    It's been a vicious 18 months for Doctor Who cast members and I really hope it's the last time we have a RIP thread here for a long time
