i have a 70's cabinet that if painted could possibly look quite well.

It's got this plastic fake wood veneer, so i assume that this would need to be sanded and primed before painting?

Is this veneer melamine or formica or something else?

any recommendations for the type of primer/paint to use?

    spray or brush?

was thinking of high gloss finish, not sure yet on colour.

any advice or comments appreciated - i've never done something like this before.

I'm in the process of painting my kitchen presses.
I bought everything in colourtrend. The staff there were very helpful.
    Coat 1 : A latex based coat
    Coat 2 : Undercoat
    Coat 3 : Paint (2 coats)

The kitchen is a foil wrap so it has a smooth vinyl finish.I had to clean it down with sugar soap before i put on the first coat. I don't have the exact names of the products. I can let you know tomorrow. I'm going to roll the final coats on. Hope to have a few doors done over the weekend

I didn't need to send, hence the first coat.(on advice)
