    Hi,

I need to replace the gear cable on my front shifter (Shimano 105 5700). I bought some gear cable on Wiggle which says it suits Shimano but I just noticed that it's 1.1 and the existing cable is 1.2 - how much of a problem would this be?
Also the new cable is Stainless Steel and the old is PTFE.

Do I just need to go and get another cable? :)

    Thanks

None of that should cause problems. PTFE is a non stick coating that they line the inside of the cable outer with, your actual cable is still Stainless Steel. Make sure the nipples (cable ends) are the same size and that the clamps grip the smaller cable.
