    Hey there,
I am quite close with my sister and lately I have found myself getting quite close to an old flame of hers. She was with this guy on and off for a few months and it was never anything serious to her, although I do believe he felt differently. She is in a relationship now for around a year.
I have been friends with him since around the same time as her. The last few times we met I have noticeably taken my flirting up a notch and really enjoyed hanging out. He always seems keen to do so as well and has subtley indicated he wants more but I havent allowed our relationship to go there.
I suppose I am looking for any advice on how to maybe take this forward. For the most part she speaks positively about him but as they arent close anymore she has also said some more personal things that I havent seen yet but could be off putting.
    Thanks

I don't believe there is any such thing as a 'cast off'. There are just the right people and the wrong people. Her ex is just as legitimate a BF as any other guy on the planet and I believe you should act on your attraction as with any other guy.

However before you do I would suggest two things. Firstly step back and give a thought to why he is attracted to his ex's sister. Do you have anything special in common ? look alike ? behave a lot alike ? I would be ever so slightly concerned that you may be a substitute for your sister. If you are happy that this is not the case then go ahead. Secondly, if he responds positively to you, I would consider mentioning the fact that you are seeing him, in passing way, to your sister as a act of courtesy.
