Anti-virus on a Mac? Never had one, and never needed one!

But hey - free is free!

It's handy if you are downloading stuff to transfer to a windows computer! I use sentry which just checks anything being transferred on removable drives.

This is a great promotion seeing as Macs are actually being targeted these days and much like windows users, mac users are unaware of the threats out there.

I've been running this on several Macs over about two and half years. I put it on the first one when work required it to be installed and then I just left it on the subsequent ones.

In all that time it has only ever found two trojans and both of them were Windows-PC-specific. Still, Macs are being targeted more now and this is free.

You don't need one ... and keep in mind that using it will slow things down unnecessarily. Better to just avoid dodgy sites and all will be well.

Lots of Media coverage of 'supposed' mac malware has never been validated. The chances of getting infected is infinitesimal.

 What was it in the end...near a million macs infected with Flashback in April?

Which prompted Apple themselves to pull that "No Viruses" spiel from their site.

They're a few weeks now trying to stop this trick from letting you down ios apps for free by bypassing their own servers!!!!

Tell that to the 600,000+ infected with flashback.
