Any new 400 euro tablets due?

After the a510 disaster I'm back in the market for a new tablet. The TF300 is almost good enough but the stupid mono speakers ruin it. I'm not really sure I need a quad-core device at all; I'm more interested in something that doesn't crash all the time. I do like ICS though.

Is there anything due out soon in the 400 euro price range or recently released that I might have missed? Maybe some Toshiba or something?

    I wouldn't touch it with yours. :D

I looked at the Toshiba yesterday but it's 500 euros on Amazon France. Amazon have some seriously mental discrepancies between countries (although it seems to be a third-party seller in this case). They've also rebranded it in Europe, no wonder I couldn't find an Excite anywhere. Full SD card slot.... I like the look of this if I can get hold of one.

TF300 has stereo speakers. Unfortunately they happen to be side by side. :o
I have found that it doesn't hamper the sound significantly. It is a great piece of kit, particularly with the docking keyboard, and I haven't had a reason to fault it, in the last four weeks.

If they were at least in the middle I could maybe deal with it, but with two people watching a film it's just infuriating to have all the sound on the right hand side.

I'm really liking the look of the Toshiba AT300/Excite but can't find anywhere selling it.

I'm guessing that Galaxy has no SD card reader? No mention of it in any case.

    Guess again. V1 didn't but v2 does.

Hmm, that would put it right back in contention. The Toshiba AT200 is available for €299 as well but comes with Honeycomb in Europe. Same with the Xoom 2.
I heard of a Huawei device with ICS but no solid info on it yet.

The Galaxy one? That's already selling with ICS here. Toshiba At200 has started rolling out in some European countries this week too, apparently.

Screw it, I'm going to have to wait another month :D

    No the Galaxy Tab 10.1.
I'm not sure what the Galaxy Tab2 10.1 has.

I tested a few out this morning -
Samsung Tab 10.2 - lovely screen, slightly laggy scrolling, not sure if that is due to the launcher, most expensive of the three at €369

Acer A200 - vertical scrolling in web browser was jerky, has a full USB port and nice, solid feel. Screen is average. Not bad for €299

Toshiba AT200 - was running Honeycomb but ICS was available OTA. The connection kept dropping while I tried to update it in the shop though. Screen is great and it's exceptionally thin. Manufacturer/community support is poor.

I was all set to buy the Toshiba and then thought to check how easy it was to root. Apparently nobody has managed it yet, so I said forget it. They've more or less discontinued this tablet before they've released the AT300 so I guess it's not a good time to buy.

    So what did u get?

I'm looking at something for my daughter, the Toshiba A300 or the Galaxy Tab2, both costing about the €400.

Galaxy 2 10" is going for ~ €310 in powercity as there's €50 cash back if you buy before the end of the month.

I got another A510 in the end. Fortunately the first one was just bad luck as I've had no problems with the second one (apart from a couple of mysterious scratches on the screen).
