A friend of mine was asking me about the Merc CLK and wondering if there was anything they should be looking out for with them, known issues, problems etc.

I don't know a lot about them to be honest, so I figured this might be a good place to start.

They are looking at the 06 - 08 models, either the 200 Kompressor or the 220 CDI, auto box and reckons there are lots out there with reasonable mileage, under 80k miles for reasonable money.

I presume they would be very similar to the C-Class models, but any advice I could pass on would be appreciated.
