A solicitor will be required for conveyancing - the mortgage company will forward the payment to the solicitor, not you and likewise, you will forward the cash payment to the solicitor. You won't deal directly with the vendor, the solicitor will then forward all payments to them. He/she will also register the mortgage, request the land folio( think thats the correct term) etc and register same with the mortgage company. Shop around as their fees vary.
