    Would supercharging it be simpler?

I'd imagine a working BEAMS engine, good gearbox, ECU, wiring loom etc won't be cheap either.

You sure you couldn't swap your mods from the IS to an RS?

The Beams intake and exhaust are on opposite sides to the standard 6 cylinder so you would need a lot more then just the engine and gear box, you will need all auxiliary components including exhaust etc.

Its not a swop I'd consider anyway. In real world driving the 6 cylinder engine is just as fast as the Beams and has much more low down torque.

The Beams may be quicker when really trashing it or on track as the peak power is very high up the rev range(even more so the V-tecs etc) but its very difficult to get the best from it on the road.

As mentioned above, a supercharger kit for your existing 6 cylinder will likely not be much, if any, more then the total cost of a beams conversion and will give even more torque.

You could also consider a 2jz-gte from a supra TT. They are pretty much a direct fit in the IS.
