Hi guys! Have to go anonymous for this one. Myself & HTB have been actively TTC for 5 months now. We stopped using protection about 2 yrs ago and just said whatever happens happens.. All cycles seem normal. Af comes every 28-30 days. We DTD every 2/3 days during the whole month after af has gone until she returns. I never really 'feel' like I've ovulated so im thinking that could be it. Dont know where to start with going to doc etc, is there anything I can try first? Any OTC tablets or herbal stuff anyone would recommend? Would really appreciate any advice.
    Thanks :)

There are lots of supplements you can take, definitely folic acid, maybe well womans vitamins, a couple of spoonfuls of Benylin non drowsy a day (helps fertile mucus) and a sperm friendly lubricant. Then figure out when is 14 days before your period, and do the deed every 2 days from 4 days before this, on the day that is 14 days before and the day after, and then every second day for another 6 or so days.

Then going down the medical there's a list of things that happen in order

Your blood tests, you can get these done in a well womans clinic, don't need referral, though your gp can do so. The tests check for ovulation.

Dependent on your gp and your age they may look at other options and referrals to a specialist.

If the bloods are good, then a hysteroscopy which is the dye test, to check for blockages.

If these are all good, then they may look at clomid, iui etc.
If they show blockages then insist on a laparoscopy to see why. i didn't and now both tubes are blocked and my options severely curtailed. Plus the endo which would have been caught in a lap contributed to 3 misses. So if there is a blockage insist. Most health insurances cover it.

Best of luck and stay on here you'll get lots of support

You could try the clearblue fertility monitor? I found it impossible to read the sticks so I used the monitor for a while while we were trying. It's pricey is the only thing. You can get it on amazon. You need 4xAAA batteries and a few packs of the fertility sticks as well.

Have you been temping or using Ovulation Predictor Kits (OPKs)? Its probably the easiest place to start. Fertilityfriend.com has loads of info on tracking your temperature. Using a combination of that along with OPKs over a couple of months will help you pinpoint your ovulation day. If you get bloods done they have to be done on certain days of the month (e.g. 7 days past ovulation) so you'll need to know your ovulation day.
