Hi can anyone PM me a list (if there is one?) of dentists in Galway/Athlone that do IV Sedation? The dentist I go to is in Sligo and its just too difficult to get there and have someone bring me home. They charge €250 which I just cant afford anymore.

Any recommendation would be great, thanks.

I dunno about the gas first, I dont mind needles at all. Well I dont like them but its so worth the 2 seconds of pain for the sedation. I find it brilliant.

yeah you can have the gas before the IV. It's grand, the dentist will put a mask over your nose and tell you to take long deep breaths. it starts to work in a few minutes, hands & feet start to tingle and you'll feel drowsy and not quite with it but still able to respond to the dentist Like yourself I am very nervous of dentists and don't like needles either. But the two minutes of pain is well worth it. The IV is grand, you won't remember much afterwards!

no problem:) yeah the two minutes of pain is getting the iv inserted. That's the worst part for me but it does help with the gas because I fell asleep I was so relaxed! I don't know any dentists in Galway but I had it done in Callan. Good Luck!:)

I've just come from<snip>, had 5 fillings and a deep clean done as well in a little over an hour. Pinch of a iv needle in ur wrist nd the last thing I remember was a lovely fleece blanket thrown over me . I knew there was work goin on but not in the slightest worried bout it. I have the biggest fear of the whole set up the <snip> and her staff are 2nd to none when it comes to makin u relax. It costs 300€ for the sedation and whatever else after that, cleanings etc bit they have competitive prices. I was apprehensive about the whole thing first off bit now I'm delighted with myself . Good luck bud, its a great investment.
