As per above and reported in today's Irish Independent ...

Surprised at this - I thought there'd be some difference (possibly even positive) due to currencies, but €600 for the FAE's.

CAI said, 'The fees are based on exchange rates that were taken at a fixed point in time... In the South we have to deal with higher input costs so we have to spend more to run a course in the Republic than we do in the North."

Still, at €4,350 per student for the FAE year somebody's doing alright.

The report also went on to say that most fees are paid by firms* but a lot more individuals are paying for them themselves these days.

*Which has always given some advantage to students of other prof bodies.

    Any thoughts?

I think that education is very expensive, until you consider the alternative.

It's a business like any other at the end of the day, and no one will be more aware of what they can and cannot charge than the Institute.

In terms of the 'brand', its a barrier to entry really isn't it? Stops dilution.
