On the coupon it has printed valid until 31/12/2012.

Do you have to go to facebook and get the coupon, ie is it like pigsback where a different barcode is produced each time?

The coupon is no longer available on their facebook page.

As Zerks above suggested I'd be surprised if Avonmore allow customers free milk for the rest of the year.

    Any body successfully using these?
    Using More than One?

Would it be cheeky to use half a dozen in the one go?

I tried to use 6 last night in Tesco, the girl didn't know how to put them through so went and checked, then came back and said you can only use one per purchase - I tried explaining the difference between a purchase and a transaction but it fell on deaf ears so just took the one.

Did you buy the other 5?

Happy Friday guys! VOUCHER ALERT! We have good news & bad news...

We posted a new voucher app on our page and were delighted when some of the community downloaded the vouchers to use. However unfortunately someone has reproduced the voucher on another platform and violated the T&C's as this was a FB voucher only. So we are deactivating the voucher.... Booo! We have the emails of those who downloaded so don't fret we are planning to contact you to send you guys out new vouchers. Yayeeee!!!

We are also planning more voucher giveaways so this won't deter us from rewarding our fabulous Facebook community! —

    Hi guys,

I've just had contact from Glanbia themselves. The voucher was intended to be valid through Facebook only and the offer is now being withdrawn as the pdf breaches the terms and conditions so I've had to remove the pdf.

As Glanbia have said, there will be another offer coming up in the near future :)

Will they honour the coupons that were printed from the pdf here, if people have already used them?

I would say yes as the shops accepted them in good faith.

For those of you not on facebook or who don't like Avonmore milk, there's quite a debate going on ....

some of the replies from Avonmore -

"It's a Facebook promotion so the link to facebook was ok but there's a PDF of the voucher online outside of Facebook so that breached T&C's."

" .... when the PDF was placed online with no link to Facebook for everyone & anyone to use (with some trying to use 6 times at once in store) - it breached T&C's. But onwards & upwards as we are going to keep rewarding our Facebook community as much as possible :) "

    Received this email today

Hello there & happy Friday to you,

Thanks so much for liking our Avonmore Facebook page & using our Milk App. Unfortunately the coupon which you downloaded is being misused (not by the Facebook community but another online community) which is in violation of the T&Cs of the voucher. Ah there's always one who doesn't follow the rules! So we have had to deactivated the barcode, which means if you use it after today it will not be accepted in store.

We are truly sorry about this but there's always a silver lining. If you can respond to this email with your home address we'll ensure you get a valid voucher for free milk, and for inconveniencing you we will send you a couple extra.... see the silver lining!

Please accept our sincere apologies for any inconvenience caused. We love our Facebook community & want to ensure we keep you guys happy especially on a sunny Friday. Keep your eyes peeled for new promotions & competitions on the Facebook page ...coming soon!

Have a great weekend - we look forward to hearing from you.

Shopping in Dunnes Clonmel this morning, lady on till said staff were told not to accept the Avonmore Free Milk coupon. She didn't try to scan them so unsure if the barcode had been deactivated (as per their email yesterday) frown.gif. Tesco, on the other hand accepted and scanned my four coupons without a problem biggrin.gif. I have enough milk in the fridge now to do me for the week! Thanks Avonmore.

Greed is the reason why the coupon was pulled in the first place, well done.

Now in all fairness that is just wrong - you know the coupon has been deactivated and yet you still used it  That is not going to help the future of couponing over here.

Are people not allowed to discuss the reasons behind why glanbia decided to stop this coupon or are you backseat modding?

I'm quite surprised at the amount of abuse Avonmore is getting over this particularly in the Freebie List thread.

Was anyone here really STUPID enough to think that Avonmore was giving out free milk for the rest of the year.

Our ingratitute certainly won't encourage businesses to give similar freebies.

this isn't a discussion thread - if you want to raise it over in the discussion thread then go ahead. all this thread encourages is the likes of barnet coming on here saying how much free milk they got - i'd rather that stayed within the freebie thread to be honest.

The voucher for 'free milk' was the stupidest idea I've seen lately from a marketing exec, and that's saying something - how did they think it would go? Even if it was just limited to fans of their facebook page, it's not as if its a big hurdle to pass in order to get a free litre of milk, there would still have been thousands of vouchers in circulation.

All vouchers whether for a free item or a discounted item are all gratefully received here in the couponing forum.
I think they are the cleverest idea a marketing exec. can come up with.

The general idea with the Avonmore coupon was that you liked their facebook page and were rewarded with one voucher for one free litre of milk.

As for there being thousands of vouchers in circulation - there would only been the number which they would have allowed to be printed off. Once the copy was posted here then they lost control of the number of vouchers that could be printed off and hence lost control of the cost of the promotion.
Obviously they had to immediately abort the promotion.

But it was good of them to offer it in the first place.

    This.
So many of us knew straight away that Avonmore messed up. A printable voucher valid until the end of the year!! Hahaha.

It was convenient for them to use the pdf posted here as the reason for cancelling it. But don't be fooled they had to pull the plug on this marketing cock-up either way.
