I have an interview at short notice - ie first thing tomorrow morn  I would have preferred to put it off a few days to prepare but they were pushing to get me in asap to interview so they can make a decision on a role - they had somebody else in mind until they got my dazzling CV this afternoon :p.. Anyone have any tips? It's for a techy/sys admin role. The asked me on the phone what I was getting paid in my last job and what my expectations are so I have that part covered. Not sure what questions I should ask them? I did a tech test the other week for a different company - 90 mins and didn't get to the next stage (a good few of the questions were for stuff/skills I had no idea of and were not on my CV and then logical questions that were tough) so I'm feeling a but daunted about what they might ask!

just brush up on your basics, i remember facing a few of these in the past and did the whole google IT interview questions and just stressed myself out.

check out the job spec again see the relevant stuff they have listed and make sure you know some of the basics on it, then do the same with your CV, know teh basics of any skills you have down and maybe be prepared for some uneqpected questions about something you wouldnt normally look at in day to day admin role, some obscure part of the OS/admin tools that you wouldnt normally uses day to day.

oh and after teh interview come back here and update is to what sort of technical questions if any were asked :D

I got the job - they liked how I'd laid out my CV and they said I came across well in the interview :) I think because it was a normal interview and not full of the google type questions to throw you off!
The test was grand - some AD stuff, profiles, backups, exchange, raid levels, couple of scenarios and did the solution put in place achiever the requirements

A bit in shock/nervous because I was expecting it to take a bit longer, lots of interviews, rejections, not hearing anything back - I only sent my CV in yesterday and was offered the job 24 hours later! I took a slight paycut but I was expecting that and decided to take the opportunity I had in front of me instead of holding out for a perfect job that may never come!
