Silly question, how to turn off data while abroad on a Galaxy SII?

    Heading to the states soon, want to turn off my data while over there though - how do I do it?

    Press the on off button on the right b option will come up to disconnect data

    You can also turn off Data Roaming so that you can never accidentially incur data roaming changes e.g cross the border.

    Menu -> Settings -> More ... -> Mobile Networks and that Data Roaming is not checked. I think this is the default setting.
