    Hi folks

We are looking to build a house shortly and are on the lookout for a good architect. I don't want a 'big block' of a house like alot of the 1.5 stories of recent years, so I would like to get a good architect (not technican) on board to design something a bit different. I think it would be money well spent. Beauty is in the detail and all that.

Anyone know or better still personally recommend any good architects? Preferably Galway/Athlone/Roscommon area

    Thanks

    Muckit

    Muckit,
I wouldn't rule in or out any profession based on what has been constructed in the past. As you say beauty is in the detail and very often the detail is lost between what was designed and what ends up been constructed, for various reasons, be cost, difference in taste, ease of construction etc.

Armed with a good design brief and realistic budget, a good designer will deliver, irrespective of qualification.
