    Hi

Have the week starting Monday 17th sept booked off. Myself and 3 other girls want to go somewhere sunny for 4/5 nights. I have no experience booking sun holidays and have no idea where to go but it is up to me to book it! I'd appreciate any help. We just want a bit of sun, a couple of nights out and somewhere REALLY inexpensive. Thanks for any help

Something cheap in the sun. This means package travel, like www.sunway.ie and similar. Look on their website and get the package deals with flights and hotel.
(incidentally it's often cheaper to book everything separately but this is the easy way)

Make sure to use a company you heard of before and research them before booking. Use google and trip advisor.

Hi thanks biko, I'll definitely have a look at sunway. What I'm really looking for is a destination more than anything. On those websites, to search for flights etc, you kind of have to know where you're going before you look. And a lot of the packages are for 7 or 14 nights, min so it's hard to find somewhere.

The only thing I will tell you is that so close to the holiday, you will pay a lot more, particularly if you are booking through a travel agent.

Just a thought: Have you considered flying out to Italy/France, get a train ticket (Interrail) and you can travel around for a few days. Slovenia is beautiful, Croatia - get off onto an Island and hostel your way around. I did it a few years ago, didn't pre-book hostels and had a great selection. Very cheap option. We stayed in Split and Hvar Island in Croatia. Slovenia is another beautiful country too.

Other than that - Canaries are cheap and cheerful for a week in the sun too.
Enjoy, and please bring the sun back with you! :)

Btw, you can try calling into some local travel agency and chat to them.
They might have a sale on or at least give you some tips on places to go.

Lastminute.com is a good website to check out.

if you can only go for a few days, you could always try Malta for something different, Paceville is the serious clubbing area, but there are more chilled out areas too. Ryanair fly there

Barcelona has some good hostels or studio apt rentals and flights with Ryanair or Aerlingus should be cheap.

Great tips, thanks all. At least now I have a few starting points instead of looking at random places. Hostelling is something I hadn't thought about actually.
