Hi all, I am in the process of registering our home house with land reg, its been in my family for 60 odd years but their is a procedure to be followed which we have completed ages ago. Land reg have said that a decision was imminent, 18 months ago. I have rang loads of times but still getting fobbed off, I can't arrange a meeting with anyone, my solicitor says everything is in order but still no sign off. My TD has written to them to no avail. Does anyone have any similar tales or does anyone know how I can get land reg to move on this. Its causing a lot of stress, their is no other claim on the house but still we can't get it signed in our name. I would like to renovate but can't get money until its signed over. Any help appreciated.

It's the Property Registration Authority now, not Land Registry anymore. If the PRA is telling you there are not any problems and that it is just going through the process, then that should be the case. It can take a while to get the process completed and 18 months is not abnormal.

While this process is going on there should not be any hold in making any application to the banks for mortgage or loads because of registration of title. Your solicitor would give the banks all the necessary paperwork or undertakings necessary to complete any funds application. Again this is fairly standard practice.

Agreed - Building a house on family farm, turned out there were some old historical land registry issues that just need to go through the long paper trail but bank were happy with statement from solicitor ssaying paperwork had been filed...
