2012 edition is coming up in the middle of August. Full line-up here: http://www.ifi.ie/stf/

A few of them seem quite interesting. Unfortunately missed Planet of Snail at the Galway Film Fleadh so looking forward to giving that a gander. The Imposter, Detropia and 5 Broken Cameras are promising from a quick gander at the line-up. One Mile Away has been getting very positive feedback, even if gang culture isn't exactly the most original of docu concepts, but nice to see someone who isn't Ross Kemp or Danny Dyer tackling the topic. Surprised The Interrputers is showing as it's gotten a relatively wide release on Netflix and DVD already.

Thanks for the heads up, will definitely be going to The Imposter and Planet of Snail.

Though I'm a little disappointed that they won't be showing the documentary about Tribe Called Quest, and The Interrupters is already on dvd/netflix.

...and I really thought they'd show Jiro Dreams of Sushi too, given the acclaim for it.

They showed Jiro Dreams of Sushi at the Japanese Film Festival last year, so maybe they're trying to avoid overlap. I did hear tell that it might be getting a theatrical release of some sort in the near future, so fingers crossed it will show up in the IFI because I missed it too first time around. As a sushi addict, I must rectify that :pac:

Jiro Dreams of Sushi is great - saw it recently and really enjoyed it. The shots of the sushi are beautiful, and the story of the main guy and his perfectionism/obstinance is great.

As far as the IFI festival - the one I'm really interested in seeing is The Imposter. Another one they are showing - The Interrupters - was shown on BBC a few months back - it's done by the same guy as Hoop Dreams. I haven't seen it, but he has a great pedigree, so I imagine it is at least worth a look.
