Okay is it just too obvious?

Eye Of The Tiger (GER) Tom Queally/Barney Curley

    113/4000

Rated 101 when joining the current yard in April, now 84. A group 2 winner at Cologne in May 2010. No points of reference as he was out the back in all races only beating 2 horses home in those 4 races. Currently 13.00.

Pat Eddery has a similar puzzle in the same race with Ascalon, not seen for 4 years winning off 95 in a Group 2 now 79 after two poorish runs in higher grades (Listed and Class 3). Currently 12.00

he's actually running off 75 tomorrow
and I'd normally be one to back this, but Barney doesnt tend to get big bunches of winners (the rare exception being that 3 winner day last year), and think that this one might have a couple more bad runs before his trying day.

After the little stunt they pulled today with Elusive Hawk it wouldn't suprise me if they pull off another gamble tomorrow but i wouldn't touch it till i see the price fall down!!!

Just looking through Queallys German imports, the pattern for the most part is clear as day, a succession of woeful performances at increasingly long prices and then bang, the win comes off a SP of about 5. Although Pindar won at 11s recently so the market doesn't always foretell.

Savaronola (USA) was run at Southwell 3 times and over the sticks at Huntingdon, out with the washing every time over a 16 month period then he pops up at Wolverhampton and trashes the field by 6 lengths with SP of evens. You have to have patience to plot like that!

Decided to back it at 9.00 with a PP free bet, so no harm!

    6.55 Sandown

    Roman Order 33/1

Although Brian Meehan's horses generally come on an awful lot for their first run, he is capable of readying them first time out and with money coming I think this debutant looks rather interesting. A half brother to several winners, this son of Holy Roman Emperor has a couple of nice entries including in the Redcar Two Year Old Trophy so he must have been showing something at home. Kieron Fallon is booked and with money coming for this 2 year old then I think he's worth a small play in case the in form Meehan has him wound up first time out.

Rather like the look of 6.15 Naas Dark Danger 16/1. No time for a write up.
