Help finding Barrister Nightclub case Sligo

I was wondering if anyone could help me locating a link for a case that happened in Sligo a number of years ago. It is apparently very well known around legal circles as it involved a number of Barristers getting into a row on a night out with bouncers of a Nightclub. Not sure what the nightclub was called at the time but it is known as Pure currently.

As far as I know the name of the case was Lyons v something but I can't seem to find it on any of the law databases.

    Can anyone help?

It's there alright. Login and you'll find it immediately.

Tom any chance you could paste a link to this judgment or copy it onto a Word doc and attach it, a group of counsel getting up to mischief and it ending with reported judgment would be worth a look.

Unfortunately I don't have access to any of the subscription sites.

OP search for "Lyons" in the first party name and in the main text body search for "barrister" and "sligo", thats how I got it.

McCrack, I'll send you a PM with it when im on my laptop later.

It is too long to P.M

The outline of the facts amused me - "Eyeballing episode"

To be fair it looks like they were the injured party.

I take it attaching judgments would be frowned upon?

The case is interesting for an Undergraduate Tort exam - The discussion of Conway v INTO and damages is very quotable.

From a practice perspective, its an interesting valuation of the damage done to the Barristers reputation.

Emphasis seems to be on the conduct of security and the possible damage to the reputation of the Plaintiff / how the incident might militate against establishment on circuit. In my own opinion the award was justified, but may have been excessive (of course this depends on the actual coverage of the incident)
