No. Cheapest price I have seen is a full respray on a sports coupe for €750 in Ballymount. My car is in there now and I should be collecting on Thursday. PM me if you want details and I will send you a snap of the finished article. I should say that I am getting far more than just a respray....dents and rust removed and delocked and all the works.

Here is the spray job on my fto. Still some minor work to be done and will be collected Saturday.

Was that fully resprayed for €750?

    What was the "before" like?

The respray price is €750, But also had the body made good. All dents and rust removed and the spoiler removed. Holes were filled and the boot delocked. That part of the work cost €900. The shell was in pretty good condition as it was. A few car park dings and rust under rear arches.

The total job cost me €1600. That's for the above + under body derusting, welding and under seal. Windows tinted. Plenum (air intake) painted and the fluid caps painted. Leather seat retrims installed. Front bumper registration block removed and blended. Side skirts blended. Alloys refurbed and resprayed. Windows tinted. Thats all i can think of right now.

No I don't think they have a proper oven, which is why the jobs take longer I think. I had a look at the car today and I am well impressed. I will do a full inspection on it when collecting.

They did work on another fto my brother had. It was a repair job and spray on the front bumper and rear bumper. It was rear ended and the boot was pushed in a couple of millimetres. Rear bumper needed to be remoulded. They put on a facelift bumper I had in the shed, which needed work on it. They also repaired a cracked quarter panel too and sprayed that. It all cost only €370. The closest quote was well over 1k (without the front bumper and cracked quarter panel). Here is a pic of the finished job.

Here is a video I have too.

That is an unreal colour! And fantastic price, might get their details off you, need to get some rust sorted on my car and might look into getting a few areas touched up.

Me too, I need to get a fair bit of work done on my car and for that price I'd consider getting it fully resprayed.

Could you please pm me details?

Is it ok if I post their details here. The owner of the garage certainly won't mind. He gave permission to pass on prices to online forums and friends.

Personally, I would go for full respray unless it was a boot or bonnet needing done. Anything else can look off, especially on an older car.

The colour of my FTO is Icelle Blue and is the original colour. To the best of my knowledge, it's the only one of its colour in the country.

I've been considering it and did get a quote from someone recommended by my mechanic for numbers very close to what you have, am really looking around to be honest, as I'd also like to get the alloys done too which this chap doesn't.

Thanks for all the info :)

Jesus that s some price for respray  last year I had to have rear bumper on my car filled and resprayed and sealed some area and as well put new black trim on the middle and at lower end of the bumper and all this cost around 700 euro.

Do you know how much would this guy charge to respray and fill two or three small dents on Mazda 6's bonnet and respray for rear bumper?

I would guess 3-400. Could be less, considering the prices I have experienced. He won't price you until he sees the car though.

He charges €30 per alloy refurb.

    HOly mother.

I've a colleague who paid €100 per wheel for a really ****ty refurb recently, a few of us were looking at it in work and the paint was bubbled on the finish if that makes sense?

That's like four wheels for the price of one?

And the difference is that he takes longer as he doesn't have an oven?

By refurb, do you mean, stripping the wheel back, priming it and recoating it?

I was also quoted €100 per wheel, but by a reputable company in the city centre. I was shown previous work on other wheels, where they had sprayed, or put carbon wrap on the alloys and it looked really good. My wheels were also in good condition, with some kerb rash, so I figured €30 a wheel would be a crime to let go.

I don't know if they strip old paint, but I would guess that they do to get an even application. You can see they give a few coats of paint, because it's a good rich colour result. I stuck with silver, just in the event I kerbed the thing again, but hey...I can pay €30 and get it sorted again :)

Also, I believe the bubbling on your colleagues alloy would have been caused by moisture. If the wheel is not pre heated ( a blow torch helps) the moisture get trapped and bubbles up under the paint. I learned that on wikipedia the other day

These wheels my colleague had done had loads of bubbles in the paint, those of us who noticed made a pact not to mention it, as he was delighted.

They looked great from a distance, but close up you saw the bubbles.

Can you pm me this guys details? I'd really appreciate it.

    pm sent.

Can I post the info on the forum mods? It's easier than pm'ing everyone.

As it is positive I think you can.

Just pm one of the mods and ask.

There is a list of mods in the bottom right hand corner that tells you who to pm?

Thanks for quick replay lad. The garage in Limerick was asking 600 just to respray the bonnet on the car.
I too was quoted nearly 3 years ago around 80 euro per wheel for a refurbish, and comparing that price with this one it really does sound like a extreme value for money.

The guys are Romanian and as far as I am concerned, they work hard for a fair price, not an extortionate one. For this reason, I recommend them and trust them with my baby.

    I'm off to bed.

They don't have a website up and running, so I will add their info here.

Mods feel free to remove if I am not supposed to post this.

The garage is GVD Autos based in the Mulcahy Keane Ind Est in Walkinstown. The owner is George and can be reached on 0876359345. He has encouraged me to tell my motoring colleagues online and is ok with prices and contact info being made public. I have no connection with this company, other than the fact that I am a customer. Hope that helps you all.
