Found a stray chip of amalgam after getting a filling.

Hey, sorry to keep making threads, been a bit of a saga!

Basically, I just got a filling done all the way down to the gumline and I just picked a stray piece of amalgam out of my mouth (I haven't eaten or anything, just got home and opened wide to have a look in the mirror). The dentist's office is closed for the day and I'm going on holiday for a month on Thursday. Should I call up an insist on getting an emergency appointment tomorrow morning and have everything checked to make sure the filling hasn't chipped or is it fairly normal to have a bit of stray silver in your mouth after getting work done?

    Thanks!

Could just be a bit of loose amalgam that was hidden below the gum or somewhere not easily accessible, if its not hurting I wouldn't worry too much but go get it check when the dentist reopens.
