I think there are a few things that need to be changed before its goes online but what are your general opinions of it www.online-shop.ie. Thanks

EDIT: Payment methods have been fully tested but are not operational yet so please dont create accounts or try to buy anything yet.

Only thing from quick look I see is "about us" very weird, other bullet points are standing still while about us is floating.
It's also a bit slow at loading (no my internet is not ****, or maybe just not connecting well to your site)
Perhaps try putting titles for pages? As seeing http://www.o...jectors.htm doesn't look well.
When you press monitors, tv's it like additional sub categories and each of them is in different size, there are random gaps between them, looks weird.

About us was a test. That will be gone before the site goes live. I've noticed the speed too but I think thats because its on a test server for now and will be moved soon.

I'll have a look into getting the URLs for the pages changed and I see the problem with the boxes, they seem to get bigger when there are 2 lines of text used. I'll look into that asap.

    Looks good :)

    Few points I'd look at:
    • <title> tags for each page (as said earlier)
    • Not too sure about the slogan 'New word in PC'
    • Copyright 2011 should be 2012
    • Buy now button is a bit jagged http://www.online-shop.ie/tablet_PCs/HP__LG725EA.html
    • Could you place the product details in a tabbed environment instead of html anchors which extend the length of the page considerably?
    • When using categories like http://www.online-shop.ie/Software.htm you could get rid of the blue background, add a relevant icon and maybe an SQL count on the category to show how many products are in there.
    • For the moving 'About Us' link just get rid of the marquee tags: <a href="http://www.online-shop.ie/info/About_Us.html"><marquee>About Us</marquee></a>
    • There is a lot of different font sizes on the homepage - maybe for the <h3 style="height: 32px;" class="product-name"> bar either make the padding bigger or the font smaller - maybe a blue gradient bg like in the header.

Good luck with it. Maybe there's a discount for Boardsies down the line :D

Thanks for the feedback. New word in PC is only a test to see what it would look like if we did use a slogan. I don't even understand what it means. I'll look into getting a higher quality buy now button. The specs are supposed to appear on a tabbed page in a table but there is an error there that's being worked on. Getting icons is something that could be difficult but I have added it to the list of things that need to be done to get rid of the boxes and just use text links that are about the same size as the Home>software, just above.

What do you mean by the last point, I don't actually do any site building, I'm compiling a list to being to the person that built it of things that I want changed. Do you mean the blue bars over the featured products section?

There should be a discount, I'm considering an opening sale to generate business. I need to get the cupon code/discount system working though.

Product pages are terrible > http://www.online-shop.ie/tablet_PCs/HP__LG725EA.html

Information isn't easily readable. Have you ever bought something online before? Underneath "product code" there is this
    "HP LG725EA

    1500 MHz
    Z670
    0.512 MB
    2048 MB
    DDR2"

This means dick all to the average consumer, and means nothing in general though I am able to decipher what is for what. 512kb of what though? I still cant tell...

Prices seem quite high. You'll need to justify them.

you have a .ie but your offices that we should "visit" are in the UK. Not going to inspire confidence. Use the Irish addresses that you have listed here http://www.online-shop.ie/info/contact_us.html

No contact email address at the bottom.

No RBN (not sure if you need one though)

Copyright is set to 2011. Use some simple PHP to set it to this year.

Generally doesn't look like a new website - rather it looks like one from about 5 years ago that the corporation never got around to updating. Think http://www.pcworld.ie/

We working on sorting the product info, it will be sorted before we open.

The .512MB is the L2 Cache, that won't be showing up when we have things sorted, when its fixed the 5 bullet points will show 1. processor manufacturer and model, 2. quantity, speed and type of ram 3. Hard drive speed and capacity 4. Graphics Card make and model 5. Size and weight

What prices in particular did you find high?

The visit us is just a random address the developer used because he already had a google map done for it, it will be changed before launch.

I'll look into the email, we were supposed to be having a contact us added near the bottom anyway.

    What is an RBN?

The copyright should be done soon, I think, I'll have to check that.

What can be done to make it better then, at the moment trying to make it as user friendly as possible is a priority rather than appearance.

The Language dropdown has...1 language. I'd remove it until you have more languages supported.
