Hi all. OK I don't know where this goes. Anyways, I am 16 and I got my learner permit for tractor. (Not a farmer or anything just wanted to have a licence) Anyways I am turning 17 on August the 8th. I went to tax office yesterday and duplicated my licence to car too. When will I get my licence? Would anyone know if I would get it on the 8th or after the 8th?

Presumably you will get a learner permit, not a licence until after you have done your test.

If they are posting it out, I doubt you'll have it until after the 8th, as it can't be issued until then.

So in other words it will be sent out on the 8th.

I'd say you wont have your permit for a few weeks! It really just depends on how much of a back log there is in the MTO! I wouldn't have my hope up for having it on the 8th tho!

Well I'm sure they're pretty busy! there's a backlog for a reason!
Anyway, yes I'd say if you got it in the next two to three weeks you'd be doing well, friend of mine was waiting 8 weeks for her learner permit from the Waterford motor tax office!

Does a learner permit for 3 years need a person with a full licence beside them?

Yes with a learners permit you do need a person with a full drivers licence with you at all times.
