Photographing a Grad for a person?

    Hey all,

Have been asked to cover a client's son's Grad (note; being hired by an individual person to go to their home, not by a school to cover the actual event).

Can anyone tell me what is actually involved here? I've never went to, seen, or, to be honest, really heard much about grads at all and as such, I'm not 100% fully sure of the photography coverage.

As far as I know, for these, the photographer usually shows up to the house about 45 minutes or so before the person is set to leave, does a bit of family portraiture, a small portrait session with the boy/girl in question and the person they're bringing (if they're bringing someone) and ties it all up before they leave (while making sure to just get photos of anyone/everyone who may be there on the day)?

Most people tend to hire a car, too, if I'm correct, so obviously you'd need to include that.

It doesn't seem difficult at all, but I'm just not entirely sure of the actual series of events on the day or such. Could anyone enlighten me?

Any of these that I have done usually include all you have mentioned, a nice touch would be a fisheye or wide angle shot in the car especially if its a limo.
Sometimes a group of debutantes meet up in 1 house if being collected by limo/bus so there is a lot of chances to get candid shots of interaction between them all. Ensure that you take lots of portrait shots to include head to toe shots cos shoes are very important. Aww you will be fine I am sure ;)

Haha, I'm sure I'll be okay in covering it, alright, but just wasn't sure if there was a 'usual' procedure for photographers covering grads or such.
