    Hi all,

In France for a few weeks in a friends holiday home. They have a French Satellite system installed which (funnily enough) only picks up French stations.

I have my friends full permission to either add whatever English channels it might be possible to pick up or re-tune the receiver to only pick up English FTA channels if that's even possible. The system was installed when they bought the place last year and they never watch/use it.

Here's an image of the box

Any suggestions as to whether I'm likely to be able to get any English FTA channels with it and if so how should I go about tuning them? Needless to say there isn't a manual for the box that I can find and the menu's are all in French which unfortunately I don't parlaaaaay:rolleyes:

    Ben

You'll need a signal from 28 degrees east if you want to pick up more than the odd news channel with English audio.

    Thanks Peter,

It looks like the dish is pointing about 150 degrees south (according to my Android phone digital compass anyway) and I'm not going to start climbing ladders etc so I guess this idea is a dead duck :(

If its tntsat the dish is pointing at 19.2E. There are not much FTA channels in english. Mostly news channels like sky news, cnn and so on.

France 4 sometimes shows Friends in English. If that's your cup of tea :) TF1 and M6 sometimes show stuff in English too. "Les Experts" more commonly known as CSI
