After months of speculation, the Columbus Blue Jackets have finally parted ways with Rick Nash, trading the winger to the New York Rangers in exchange for centres Artem Anisimov and Brandon Dubinsky, defenceman Tim Erixon and a first-round pick - pending a trade call.

Rangers are giving up a lot to bring Nash to MSG.

My sympathies to the players on the other side of this trade going to the Black Hole of Columbus.

The only surprising thing about it is that it took this long to complete.

Are they really giving up a lot?

Having a read of this, NYR avoided giving up key players and only gave up some squad players who aren't massive performers.

An "infield single" is a good description of this deal.

I think it is an excellent trade from the Rangers' perspective. A really top class forward comes in and we lose some squad players who haven't really performed that well of late.

Pedant :P. You know what I mean. Dubi wasn't exactly banging them in the last campaign.
