Tutoring

Hi, I applied for a position as a tutor to undergraduate students (will be doing my Masters in September) and I've been offered an interview. I wasn't able to make the original interview date as doing a J1 at the moment but the history department have agreed to give me an interview at the end of August, when I'm home. I have been thinking about preparing and what kinds of questions I might be asked...has anyone else ever done this? Is it a good sign to have reached the interview stage?
    Thanks

Hi goose, just wondering how you applied for this? Is it just within the history department, I'm starting masters in september and was wondering if there are opportunities like this within geography department! Thanks.

We got an e-mail about it and had to reply saying that we were interested and why we would like to do it...This was quite a while ago though and I know the original date for my interview was in June so if you haven't heard anything yet I'm not sure there is anything :/

Well now, not all departments are the same. For example I specifically have to go up and ask, it's not offered.
If anyone's interested in tutoring, and haven't heard anything from their respective departments, I would suggest calling the department secretary. If nothing else, she/he'll be able to tell you who to talk to.
Also bear in mind that it's still a little early for some departments to be thinking about who they're getting to do tutorials. Lady I knew last year was offered a tutoring position a week into term.
