Nursing homes for work experience in Cork City

    Hi folks,

    Ill be starting the Fas fetac 5 Helathcare Assistant Traineeship in Cork City next week. two questions can anyone in Cork recommend a nursing home to do the work experience? and has anyone done this course and what did you do to find work experience?

    no worries, it is easy course and you'll manage okay. Lots of assignments and few exams. very important is work placement. this is separate module and you'll get a booklet to sign by management at your work place. Ask everywhere. In my opinion the best place is in a hospital because you'll have the guarantee of highest skills.

    cool Jendrus. did you do yours in Cork? and did you do yours in a hospital? i haven't even looked for placement yet. will fas leave me off during the day if i have to go for an interview? Cheers

    I did mine in donegal working in hospital. You can not take days off, you won't be paid.
