At the moment I'm not on any benefits but will be applying shortly to the social welfare because I have lost hours at work. I have just got confirmation on how much I will be earning each week from my part time job.

I need to figure out how much I would be entitled to on the One Parent Family Payment. I know that I will get some amount from them, in addition to me wage from work.

I'm trying to plan my finances now while I still have a full income. Should I call the OPF helpline to get a rough estimate on how much I would be entitled to? Or will I have to wait for the whole application to be processed.

I know I will be waiting a while for it to be processed (I had to wait 6 months before when I was on it years ago) but just trying to see how much I will have to live on.

My income will be as follows per week:

    Work: €125
    Maintenance: €70

I dont have rent because I live at home so cant offset my maintenance against anything.

Can anyone please help me with this.

All the info you need is here:http://www.citizensinformation.ie/en/social_welfare/social_welfare_payments/social_welfare_payments_to_families_and_children/one_parent_family_payment.html
Going on the figures you have given ,if you have one kid you will get €147.80.

You should apply asap and your claim can be revised once your wage is reduced.
If your claim isn't processed by the time your wages drop ,you might get help from the CWO.
