Am I correct in my mpg calculation & is it good or bad for a 1.9 tdi engine with 100k

410 miles costing 50 euro at 1.49 per ltr
    (50/1.49) = 33.55 litres

    4.54 ltr in 1 gallon
    33.55/4.54 = 7.38 gallons

    410/7.38 = 55.55 MPG ??

Assuming that's the qty you actually used it's right... Seems good too... Depends of course what the engine is pushing!!

The maths is fine. As litres per 100KM it would be 33.557 / (410*1.609 / 100) = 5.1 (to the nearest 1 dp). Any way you look at it, it's decent consumption - I presume that was a motorway run?

I t would be more accurate if it was a full tank as opposed filling up at an unknown tank level but the calculation is correct.

Filled from quater tank & used back to quater tank. Was mainly motorway driving. Just making sure I had the right calc. Cheers folks.

It's an 02 caddy van & had a decent load in the back.

You should have filled it again to get an accurate amount of litres burned.

Getting around 57/60 mpg in the Toledo here driving handy.

You should do brim to brim... Your calcs are spot on but your useage is at the mercy of the fuel guages accuracy(and they ain't going to be accurate really)
