    ..are they looking for somebody straight out of college? Or has it to do with the level of experience more so than age?

    Usually it is either someone with a lack of experience or a graduate. Usually if they are specifically looking for a graduate they will say that.

    If an employer is advertising to fill a 'Junior' post they are looking for someone with little or no experience. The succesful candidate would probably receive a significant amount of training and the salary may be at the lower scale to reflect this. A suitable candidate may be someone straight from college or could also be a mature person with experience in another area. Equality laws are there to protect against any form of discrimination so the age of a candidate should not play any part in the selection process.

    Thanks for that. The position is quite specific on what skills they require and they didn't mention anything to do with a graduate.
