If it's between those two get the halfords one. The claud butler has a crappy 7 speed drive-train and is all round low-end.
The carrera isn't exactly bling but it's all fairly decent, reliable stuff.

Just be aware that some of the halfords have a fairly bad reputation for build quality so if they're putting it together for you make sure they do it properly.

decathlon.co.uk do a road bike for £300 with better spec than those 2, you can get it delivered from the belfast shop, but you may have to ring them first.

Have a look at second hand market with that budget, it may be a better option in my opinion.

Hi Patsat, My brother has the Halfords one. I use it around the ind est in Raheen. Don't get one, it will rattle the teeth out of you. I recently got a Scott S50 and there is no comparison between the 2 comfort wise. I would have to agree with the 2nd hand option. Some great bikes on done deal at the moment.

Thanks for the advice lads, There is some great deals second hand but I'm getting it through the cycle to work scheme so that rule that out.

I'm gonna go with the Carrera Virtuoso, it's seems to be getting great reviews with it's only draw back being the pedals, which are easily changed of they bother me.
