Place to learn to drive in Dublin

    Hi guys

I am in the middle of learning to drive and have had a few lessons with a friend of mine. I amm planning on getting lessons from an instructor soon but want to get onto the road a couple of times beforehand. I am progressing quite well in my opinion but am looking for recommendations for a place to learn that is quiet enough? a large industrial estate with proper roads or something along those lines?

Would anyone have recommendations? I am based in Dublin city centre

Make sure you have insurance on the car cause even in industrial estates you could get done.

    Sandyford industrial estate
    Ballymount " "

    Just out of interest:
I saw on beach once some young guy (doesn't even look 17) when no one was around except me (1 car) , he was taught to drive by older guy (assuming it's his father), can they still be fined and prosecuted if they had no license on beach? (I mean as it's not a road or anything)

Yes unless its private property and not open to the public.

Now saying this you could be lucky and never have any trouble but the cops do patrol drive on beaches too. Saw them checking before.
