Obtaining a British passport

    I'm hoping to obtain a British passport through my mother, who was born in the UK as I want to spend 2 years in NZ on a working holiday visa instead of one on my Irish passport. I've checked the eligibility conditions and I am entitled to one. I'm just wondering if anybody has any info on applying for one from here. I've heard that everybody who applies for a first time British passport needs to go for interviews etc. Also the Embassy in Dublin doesn't seem to process them, do I apply through the main passport office in the UK? Not much info is available. Thank you.
