    Hi All,

I have in my possession, my grandfathers Omega pocketwatch.
It used to work when I was a kid, but I think I over-wound it or something so it no longer does and the crown is tight (won't wind any further).

I've not got a picture at the mo so I won't ask about value.
It looks like the glass was replaced at one point as it looks too thick (glass protrudes above bezel, if you get me).

Also, the (previously convex) back is engraved with a stylised 'K' (family name) and is dented so that it's more concave now.
Is that easy to tap out too ?

I would estimate its vintage to be 40s or 50s as he died in the early 60s.

How much would I be looking at for a repaitr, and where could I get it done ?

    Cool. Nice maker. :)

Don't worry about "over winding" P, it's a common enough idea, but has little basis in reality. Usually what happens is that some part of the mechanism stops working, so what you describe looks like it's been wound too much, but you'd want the hands of Godzilla to actually overwind :D

It may well be the original as the protrusion bit was common with pocket watches and many wristwatches back in the day.

Rejoice in the awareness of feeling stupid, for that’s how you end up learning new things. If you’re not aware you’re stupid, you probably are.
