Got an email from a dive shop.

2 months after I had lost it some divers found my GoPro in about 40ft of water off the coast of Catalina Island.
They worked for the California Fish and Game and handed it in to the captain of the dive boat.

It still works, but for some reason the memory card was blank - which was a pity as I had footage of a shark with it's head bitten off (presumably by a larger shark) on the card.

Good endorsement of the camera though.

    Lost it while diving here:

I was using the GoPro head mount, which isn't very good underwater if your wearing a hood (which you need to do in those waters).

Some have advised putting the hood on over the camera, which I will try. That or tethering it to my tank valve.

Not a good endorsement. A Great endorsement! You should let the company know, might be a few bucks in it for you. Pity the headless shark footage was gone!

Good few stories like that alright eg:

Card being blank is odd, id run it though recovery software before you do anything with it.
