I'd appreciate any thoughts. Considering buying a Nexus 7 or this Lenovo ideapad. They are more or less the same price.

Should I hold off for a few weeks for the Nexus 7?

    Go for the Nexus. Definately.

The only reason not to buy a nexus is because you need a bigger screen, this applies to every other tablet also.

You're comparing a 7" and a 10" tablet, they're nothing like each other other than they are both tablets that run Android

I would have said the nexus tablet but having said that i have just upgraded the galaxy tab plus 7 to ics using the austrian official samsung update and i have to say ics is a massive upgrade over honeycomb.

It might be worth looking at the 8gb version of the galaxy tab 2 7.0 and buy a cheap micro sd card to double the memory size. The file browser on it is decent enough.

You should wait for Nexus 7. My reasoning is because I have read a number of users complaining of freezing issues etc. Lenovo is also very sluggish for any RMA where ASUS (Google Nexus 7 made by ASUS) would respond right away. Besides, you can get it from ARGOS, they will even give you extended cover for a bit more. Besides, Nexus 7 is far superior in terms of hardware.

Now that is a nice device. Huawei is good value product but it's in different niche from ASUS or Apple IMO. Still, any competition brings 'healthier' pricing.

Oh and.. Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 should retail at around €500+. In my vocabulary anything above €450 is a full fledged laptop (mind you I would spend €500 max on fully functional Windows 8 Tablet but that is months if not years away). I am sure there are loads of people willing to waste money on more expensive options - I just don't think it's a good value. So.. Galaxy Note is not a tool - it's a toy seems like. Nice one too.

I am not sure about the €500 pricing for Windows 8 tablets ... I have a Nokia Lumia 800 and it is indeed the best phone I ever had. But Microsoft threw Windows phone 7 OS away so easily as if it was nothing but an experiment. I doubt if the new Windows 8 is another experiment of Microsoft - just like Windows Vista.

To be honest, I won't pay anything for latest Windows unless it has been proven successful. If you don't mind, I'd recommend you to do the same.
