ADVICE NEEDED: Virgin Mary appeared to me

Guys, I feel truly blessed but at the same time completely overwhelmed..

Last Thursday night I awoke in my bed around 3am to a wonderful bright light in my room. The most incredible feeling of peace and warmth filled me. The bright light dissipated and standing before me, near my bedroom door, was Our Lady. I immediately started reciting the rosary and she remained there for the duration of the rosary.

I've told some people, but I don't think they believe me. I don't know why she came to me, of all people. She didn't communicate any message to me.. Maybe she will come back. I'm hoping she will, because I have many questions to ask her.

Has anyone else had such an experience?? What do you think it means? It has changed my whole life. I always attended mass every Sunday, but now I'm attending every single day. I don't know what else to do - people are reluctant to believe me and I'm starting to get embarrassed talking about it in person.

Any advice would be sincerely appreciated.

Yes, I am the real deal. I wasn't as devout in the past as I should have been. But this has changed my whole life.

Only your GP can advise you on this one.

mass has nothing to do with it, read the bible yourself.

    A. You don't know who appeared to you, or if anything really appeared. The Mind can play tricks.
    B. If someone did appear you don't know if it really was the Virgen.
    C. I won't be coming here posting for advise. If you are really sincere you should look for a spiritual director who can help you discern.

You said she said nothing.. Then if I were you I will say nothing. It takes years of discernment to determine the truth of supernatural events.

When I was a kid my Father suffered from paranoid schizophrenia.. He was seeing and talking to his dead mother and 100% convinced she was actually there. Well of course my mother committed him to get treatment. Which he got.

You need someone to discern what you are seeing, usually this also means independent non religious medical assessment.

This is the wrong place to look for advice on this matter. I am a fool and my advice will not be very good but here it is:

It is important you find a spiritual director. A good and Holy priest. Not all people ( even priests ) should be expected to believe in what happened you. The main reason for that is many priests are afraid of this kind of thing and do not want to get involved. So don't be surprised if it takes you a while. It is also advisable not to tell anyone outside of your trusted family circle ( even though some in the family may think your a bit cuckoo ). The reason for this is because although you want to spread this great news about what happened ( and if it is of God it is indeed great news ) it nonetheless is just too ''big'' a thing for the world to take and that includes Catholics, but especially secular people. So keep it with a trusted confessor or spiritual director.

Explain to the spiritual director/priest what happened to you. First and foremost although I am all for simplicity and belief, we have to also look at the possibility that what happened you may not be of God at all. It could be A) from your own spirit ( as in pshychological ) or B) from the Devil who in his craftiness can imitate the Virgin and prey on the ignorance of people like me and you. He can imitate graces and so on. He can even cause stigmata and cure the blind such is his wileness. So we have to be extra careful about these things.

So in other words there is a need to ''test the spirits'' a little. And even though it may be of God, this can grieve God a little but it also pleases him too that we at least try our level best to seek help on the matter just in case.

I hope this helps and God bless you.

I knew a virgin called mary too, dry as a bag of crackers, never appeared to me

OP you need to assemble an ensemble of tinkers at Knock, so history has shown us

Could have been a demon appearing to get you to be more open to the spiritual world instead of focusing on Christ alone.
Without going into beliefs about the Virgin Mary, how did you discern the appearance as "Our Lady" as you say?
Does the Bible have any accounts of spiritual appearances with no message or edification involved?
I'm sure it must have been an amazing experience, but I would pray about it and ask God to reveal the truth to you.

Have you an address in which us devotees can send large amounts of cash to you ?

To help spread the message of Mary, of course...
