RSS Reader advice

    Hi guys,

I'm trying to set up a workflow around RSS feeds in work and am pulling my hair out at the amount of different readers, none of which seem to be able to do what I want.

Basically I have hundreds of RSS feeds that will need daily checking by my team. These will be stock exchange announcements (eg daily price at a certain time) accross a large number of companies.

What I need is a reader that can:

    - Take a couple of hundred different RSS feeds
    - Allow multiple users access
    - Validate and count usage*

It is this 3rd part that I am struggling with. I would like for each feed item looked at, the user can assign a resolution or validation against it (ie checked no change, checked changed, updated...etc etc the detail doesn't matter) And then for stats reasons be able to count how many people have checked and what the outcome was.

Currently we tend to just do this through email but this is very laborious and there is not a good audit trail.

Does anybody know of a suitable RSS feed reader that could take a large number of feed updates daily and be able to accurately distribute and track?

    Any help HUGELY appreciated!

How about an RSS-to-email utility outputting updates directly into an Issue Tracking System?

Just throwing this out there, but Microsoft Outlook has an RSS feed reader.
I've never used it, especially with that many feeds, but you never know, it might be something ye all have on your PC's already.

Just reading a little bit from it, Outlook 2010 supports the .opml file format for exchanging a collection of RSS feeds.

Maybe some clever VB Macro programming might help with requirement #3.
I've used VB Macros for Excel and Word, not Outlook.

Thanks guys. We have been using Outlook (2007) to a small extent but have issues with people working off the same feed and duplicating checks. If we split the feeds you run the risk of a person not coming into work and their assigned feed not being picked up by someone else.

From a workflow point of view, I'm just not sure email is the best way to go about it. Maybe something like GoogleDocs where feeds can come into a spreadsheet that multiple people can work off at the same time or something. I'm not too experienced with GoogleDocs but it's on my list of things to look at.

And the solution I'm most interested in is Yahoo Pipes. Not sure if anyone has any experience with it but from what I've used it for so far (very very basic usage), it's pretty powerful and for some reason not talked about a lot!

    Thanks for the suggestions!
