I've heard that Avon cosmetics have a cream which seems to work well at deterring midges and other biting insects. After seeing what Deet can do to nylon and plastic I'd prefer to steer clear of Jungle formula. Can anyone enlighten me as to what the specific product is? My soft skin will thank you! :D

As far as I know its one of the skin-so-soft moisturising creams. I used to be a rep and someone ordered the product and told me about its hidden talents! Sorry I cant be more specific but they're cheap products so could be worth testing out if no one here can be more specific!

Best thing iv ever used is garlic tablets, the oderless ones they sell in health food shops or chemists. I used to get eaten alive but after a few days of using these a few years ago i didnt get bit again

Did you crush them and rub on your skin or ingest them?

I've used this stuff,it dont half burn your eyes if it runs into them if you sweat.:(Doesnt seem to work too well against horse flies . If you can stomach it,a teaspoon of sulphur in a glass of water daily is supposed to change your blood make up and make you less attactive to the blood suckers.
I am a walking banquet for anything that flies and bites!:mad:
The best I've found is AUTAN in the lotion form
