Didn't it switch from ITV to the BBC at some stage during its lifetime? Perhaps there are some ITV archives kicking around somewhere.

It was made by Thames - a subsidiary of ITV. Thames is long gone.

Perhaps ITV can assist (as the show was a Thames TV production at that time). Given the local connection, UTV may be a good starting point.
