Parking, male only

Class. He is bang on. How many times have I been delayed in a car park by a woman trying to drive straight into a spot that can only be reversed into? If only I had a cent for every time it's happened, I would be close to a euro now. :p

    Chauffe, Marcel, chauffe!

The interviewer mentions a study where people were observed parking. It takes a man 16s to park and a woman 21s. After that time, 75% of men are parked correctly and only 50% of women

But never mind studies or what some of us have observed ourselves, or seen on the internet :D, I'd have thought it is sex discrimination and thus illegal in most countries in the developed world to put up male only parking spaces

Try being a woman parking an S60. I once had a bloke stand on the path watching me and actually give me thumbs up for parking perfectly and then continue on his merry way

I can agree with rating spaces by difficulty, but then saying the difficult ones are for the 'men' is stupid.

Maybe colour code them to identify the difficult ones??
Mind you, the difficult ones are often left alone anyway.

Hey, women are superior parkers. I'd like to see a man attempt to park while jabbering away applying lipstick.

Could you please get your car off my chest when you're done with the lipstick!

Why is it in English in Germany?

Ah sure we all know if the rule is against the woman, it's sexism, but if it's against a man, it's just ignored. Most recently, some female political figure (can't remember who...maybe a member of the royal family) visited Ireland and a political meeting was arranged and no men were allowed. Counciilor Bacik was behind it. When the sexist card was raised, she said her male colleagues would have the opportunity to submit questions at a later date.

I've had to park the car for my mother in the underground car park in Tallaght Hosp. Spaces are a wee bit tight :)

It actually says the complete opposite.

It says that more than 50% of women parked their car correctly, but 75% of men parked their cars incorrectly (crookedly).

They use a survey done by the Daily Telegraph where they watched 2500 parking manouveres in a garage over 1 month. Link to the German article is here. (Btw it's NSFCJF - Not suitable for Classic Jaguar fans).

It looks like the mail got its data from here:
    http://www.passsmart.com/blog/are-men-better-drivers
Last year, 40,863 women failed their driving tests for failing to control the vehicle while reverse parking. Only 18,798 men failed for the same thing. A total of 1,660,000 serious or dangerous mistakes were made during driving tests last year, with 56.7% of them made by female learner drivers.
    and
The UK driving test currently has an overall pass rate of roughly 50% with pass rates for male learners being 6% higher than those of their female counterparts.
    and
It has been estimated that male learners require about 36 hours of tuition to pass their driving test. In comparison, the average female learner passes after 52 hours of tuition.

    http://assets.dft.gov.uk/statistics/releases/driver-rider-tests-instructor-statistics-supplementary-tables-2011-2012/driver-rider-instructor-statistics-supplement.pdf
At almost every age, male candidates had a higher car pass
    rate than female candidates.

The amount of times me and the missus are in a car park and she'll say "you wont fit in that space", doesn't mater if i'm driving a jeep or her yaris, every space is "too small":D

the steady decline by age is more interesting I would have thought. Surprising that at 40 you are so much less likely to pass

Not that surprising really, if you're only sitting a test at 40 then you've no interest in driving and learning is more difficult the older you are.
Everyone knows deep down that men by and large are better drivers, but most won't admit it! :)
