Gait analysis/niggling injury

Hi.regular short to mid distance runner (10k) I bought new asics late last year. Running fine up to about May when I sprained my ankle and have been receiving physio since . thankfully the ankle is fine now but I still get tightness in the calfs. I know this is common for runners even with stretching before and after. however my physio recently told me to get my gait done and possibly change my shoes. think I paid €75 for my last pair Asics gel supremacy , so I'm unsure if it's the shoes at all or what . I'm saying this as new shoes (and gait analysis) is extra money one does not have !!

    Any advice much appreciated .

I went to "base to race" in Ballymount last Sunday on the advice of my podiatrist. I didn't need to get anything done there other than trying on the recommended runners (and buying them), but they seem to have a great set up there. So if you were considering getting advice and or new runners that could be an option.

Thanks Budha. Is that near a place called Amphibian King in Ballymount ind. est. ? I was recommended to go there for a gait/ running shoes recommendation

Same place. They have running, bikes, swimming all covered under the same roof. Really impressive set up.

    Same location.

Amphibian King are the running experts in Base2Race. Veolmotion are the bike people and you have B2R Swim and DK Orthotics all under the one roof of Base2Race.

There is no charge for the gait analysis, its part of the service ensuring the recommended shoes are the right ones for you.

Another way to look at it is if investing in the right shoes works you'll save a fortune on physio bills.
