Hey guys Looking for 2 cranksets.

    Square Taper.
    165-175 Crank length
    40-53 Teeth

As cheap a possible, new or second hand.

In failing that does anyone have any advice on using a double crankset, taking off the inner ring and using it as a single? I'll be making a 7 speed bike up so I'm just wondering with regards to the chain line if it'd be ok to do?

If you're using a double with the inner removed, you might want to move the outer ring to the inner position (check which centres the chainline best with rear cog). The width reduction will affect the crankset bolts ability to hold the ring securly so you'll either need to dig out some suitable sized washers or get some single ring bolts (slightly shorter).

The bolts themselves are actually the same size. It's the part they screw into that's longer. These can be filed down very easily (only takes 5 min) or you can buy some new single ring bolts (about €15 i think)

With a square taper crankset you can use a narrower bottom bracket, outside chainring is 46mm chainline, inside is 42mm. So ideally you'd want outside to be 44mm if its 1x7spd
