Hmm, though at first it was looking good, my use of Gen started to falter at some area of points, more so than usual. I think Top Azza's garden hit the nail on the head!

Haha, ah well, being on the next one!! :D

I would not taking getting crushed by the best players in the country too much to heart. Were I in the tournament too, I'd be getting steamrolled right along side you.

I think Gen is super cool, I wish I could wrap my mind around changing stances because he seems like a lot of fun.

    Try Adon.

Oh i dunno if i really wanna drop him, as you said I am facing some of the tops in the country :P I definitely like him, like you said he is cool ! Well I'll see, and Kiki if I do decide to drop him, I will definitely consider Adon! :D

I've mained Gen for quite a while now and he really isn't that difficult. Not as much as some people think anyway.

He can be pretty rewarding if you stick with him. If you don't want to drop him then just have a good second character ready while you learn.

He is definitely the most fun character to play IMO. He's great at coming back from tough situations and his ability to troll scrubs is unparalleled.

Nice post about Balrog RopeDrink :P Definitely some good suggestions, sometimes I just like using the more obscure or awkward characters, it's what's fun for me ! :)

Rob im sticking with him for now, and im working on the strong second, at the moment that would br Ryu, and i definitely know what you mean. he can be confusing as hell, very tricky,a nd with the right combination of moves, legen... wait for it... DARY !!

I wouldn't try to copy Xian's Gen too much though. He just has a great understanding of the game and its him beasting rather than the character.

For anyone interested in learning Gen it would be better to study some of the well known Gen players instead.

Amiyu - Best in Japan IMO

The Hoigek - For all the latest and greatest Gen technology from Japan.

Yeb - Best American Gen since Vanilla. Think he left to join the Air Force though??????

RightBackBill - Our very own no. 1 ranked PS3 Gen and all round nice guy. Best production quality of any SF videos on youtube. Not sure if he plays anymore though.

Even though I have no interest picking up Gen, I follow RBB's replays on PSN,the last ranked replay he uploaded was at the beginning of march, just after 2012 came out so take that for what its worth.

We both worked together in AOL/Talk Talk for years before it got closed down in October last year, I haven't talked to him face to face since but like a lot of us who got let go, he might have had to relocate to get a new Job. If he did, he might be somewhere with crap broadband, cause I still see hes on PSN the odd time, just not playing SF. Or maybe real life stuff got in the way, or maybe he just doesn't play ranked anymore (he does mention in the video above that he hit 15K BP mark so "job done"). Who knows

I considered Makoto Kiki, i like what she can do, very fast dash, lovely triple link between Hayate, Super and Ult 1 is a nice tool considering Hayate is one of her main attacks. There's other things she can do of course just giving an example :P

Here's a player I really like, ACQUA0316, shows what Yang can do in the right hands, with our linear friends Balrog as an example :P I've seen this guy do some awesome stuff with the super, an example being after a string of moves, at the end he knocked someone over and did Yang's rolling kick thing and one of the copies hit the person in the back when they stood and then he got Ultra 2

I think it was just that getting to no. 1 was his final goal and he had no interest in SFxTK after that. We might see another video someday, hopefully:)
    Ah here!

    ;)
