A documentary series called ‘Living for London’ airs on Setanta Ireland this week and will feature Galway marathon runner Gary Thornton on Friday 20th July and Claire Bergin (4 x 400m Relay) on Tuesday 24th July.
The series follows the story of six individuals as they endeavour to qualify for the London 2012 Olympics. It will begin boadcasting on Thursday 19th July and run for six consectutive nights at 10pm with every episode repeated at 9:30am the following morning.
Each half hour programme will go behind the glamour of modern day elite athletics and search deep into the heart of the struggle and witness the pain and (sometimes) glory that goes hand in hand with qualifying for the greatest sporting event in the world.

I thought it was well put together and much better than RTE'S version.
Some of them sessions where crazy but shows what a top runner has to do to achieve their dreams.

I didn't see it all, but what I did was good. Yes, he seemed to have a great support network, good to see and unfortunate it didn't work out for him.

I caught some of the Martin Irvine one as well, another driven guy.
