A "Rich Dad" seminar was held last night in a hotel near Merrion square. It was advertised on facebook and free to attend. The speaker advised attendees to get themselves a few 0% credit cards as a way to borrow money to supposedly invest in property. They then sell you a 3 day seminar for 997 euros. This 3 days seminar is just another sales pitch to convince you to buy another course for thousands of Euros.

Answer: You can't. The world is full of people who want to get rich quick. Most are not vulnerable, just ignorant. I know one such person through a friend and he is very intelligent (academically speaking). There was no talking to him. Last time he went to one of these he handed over 2.5K for some training software/books etc... on trading stocks. Didn't make a cent from it.

For the vulnerable ones all you can do is get the word out before they plan to attend. All in all don't beat yourself up about these scammers. They will get there comeuppance. Of course you could always picket outside the venues although not sure if that would be legal. ;)

I went to a Russ Whitney "free" introductory seminar years ago. 5 minutes inside the door and listen to the language used and anyone with 1/4 of a working brain was laughing at them.

Stuck it out until the end as it was in Limerick and I had travelled there. The shocking thing was seeing well dressed (which doesn't account for brains) people literally run towards the top table scrambling to buy the products and sign up for things at the end.

Utter scam merchants the lot of them.
