SAVING MY SYNTH SOUNDS TO ABLETON

    Hi,

I have a rack module called Emu Vintage Keys Plus....I have hundreds of great sounds on it, However I was hoping to save those sounds to Ableton so I don't need to plug the module in to use it. I feel it may be a lot of work involved....but I'm willing to do it.

Any idea how I could do this? Would it be a matter of pressing every note in every octave and saving them as samples?

Would be great If I could make VST units and just name them etc.

Would love the help if anyone has the time to reply!

Yep, pretty much sampling each 'raw' waveshape in is the best way. I did this for Zero-G when sampling old gear and takes ages... but worth the effort in the end.

I'd select each sound, strip off any lfo, effects & filters as these can be added later within the DAW.

I setup a midi track to sample each key (using midi so the triggered volume is the same for each one) and then with pad sounds I would find the best loop point for each and use that section.

I would advise using something external to smaple the sounds and deal with them (Cool Edit etc) - and not abelton as it's a bit cumbersome to manage all those files.

    Good Luck with it!

Or you could set up 128 midi notes set them to play for x amount of time. Record the audio into a new clip, right click on audio clip slice to new midi track, set division to x, select sampler or drumrack.

There are ways to make new preset templates for slices cheak google.

I use Autosampler it's fab, but Apple just gobbled them up so no more updates. Hopefully they'll add the whole suite to the next Logic update.
